Howard Soypher focuses on a variety of domestic relations matters, representing clients of all walks of life in such matters. Howard’s approach is both efficient and direct. He has a reputation for being fair with his clients and the opposition, knowing what battles need to be fought and where focus of attention and resources is less-likely to be beneficial to his client. He is known for his accessibility, making himself available to his clients when it is convenient for them, including before and after traditional business hours.
Howard’s family law practice is focused on complex financial issues such as the valuation of business interests and other assets, and also includes dispute negotiations along with prenuptial, separation and other agreements. His general litigation practice focuses on counseling trustees and trust beneficiaries in matters relating to will contests, disputes regarding distributions, and breaches of fiduciary duty. Howard is also retained by clients for private mediations and arbitrations.
In recognition of his outstanding work, Howard was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), a national organization whose members are recognized for maintaining the highest degree of professionalism, integrity and excellence in the practice of family law. He is one of about 30 attorneys in the state of Maryland to be named to this prestigious group.
